Paul Leegan And The Legends - Skiffle And Country Blues Band

Harry Heppingstall

Drums, percussion and anything else you can bang - Harry has been fully professional since the 1960's and has toured the world in various bands and has performed with some of the biggest greatest names in the business notably THE BEATLES, JERRY LEE LEWIS, GENE VINCENT, DEL SHANNON, VAN MORRISON and CHUCK BERRY to name just a few.

Harry is best known for his hard work during the 60's in his band THE MATADORS.

THE MATADORS or THE FOUR MATADORS: Formed in 1962, they were a hard working and well respected band based in Coventry.

In 1964 the Matadors signed with the legendary pioneer Joe Meek as their recording manager and cut a number of sides with him. After a delay their first single was leased by Meek to Columbia in 1965 and sales proved healthy. The Matadors touring schedule from 1964 until 1968 took 364 days of the year  to complete and covered every mile of the UK, they proved to be the most traveled band in the UK as they even had to argue Christmas day off as Joe Meek wanted them in the studio.

Recently it was well documented that if you own a copy of the MATADORS or THE FOUR MATADORS album featuring the tracks "A Man Has Got To Stand Tall" and "Fast Cars And Money" (Columbia 7806) 1966 it is valued at highly - so look after it.

Harry now lives in Hinckley, Leicestershire and is a highly regarded drum teacher outside of his band tours and is still in big demand as a musician, he brings a great variety of different drum sounds.
